Buntings to bullfinches, linnet to lapwing, songthrush to skylark and siskin - feathered friends too numerous to mention take up residence at Mounteagle and Loch Eye.
Whooper swans in their hundreds glide effortlessly across the loch and Greylag and Pink Foot geese in their thousands descend in late Autumn, with over 30,000 having been recorded in one season. The loch is a site of special scientific interest and a designated Ramsar site (a United Nations classification) and if you're prepared to linger a little longer, you may spot osprey on a hunting trip or a playful otter indulging in some watersport. Every day is a day of discovery on Loch Eye.
