The Highlands are long famed for their traditional warm welcome, and we hope to add to that with our own hospitality. As well as a Welcome Pack of traditional local produce, including from our garden when in season, we are happy to offer advice and make recommendations about things to do, places to visit and restaurants to eat in.
Mounteagle has an active farm and occasionally tractors and other farm machinery may be working around the fields. We are happy to show your youngsters around the tractors when we are on hand. Guests have in the past enjoyed watching the farm work and understanding what we do.
Others like the birdlife. There are many places to observe the very special birdlife. Part of the farm is a Bird Sanctuary and a Site of Special Scientific interest. Loch Eye is a Ramsar site (a United Nations classification denoting that more than 10% of the world numbers of a species live there) Our species is the Greylag goose which visits in large numbers at several times in winter.
